Privacy Policy
What personal data we collect, why we collect it, how long we keep it, and the rights you have under UK data protection law.
Last updated: 27 August 20261. Who is responsible for your data
The data controller for the personal data described in this policy is British IPTV, operating the website british-iptv.tv.
For any question about your data, or to exercise any of the rights set out in section 9, contact us:
- Email: support@british-iptv.tv
- WhatsApp: +44 7751 430506
This policy is written to meet the requirements of the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
2. What data we collect
Data you give us
- Contact details — the email address and WhatsApp or telephone number you use to order and to receive your credentials
- Order details — the plan chosen, its duration, the number of devices, and the dates of purchase and expiry
- Payment reference — the transaction identifier supplied by the payment provider
- Support correspondence — the messages you send us and our replies
Data collected automatically
- Technical data — IP address, device type and application version, recorded when your device connects to our servers
- Connection logs — the time and duration of connections, used to operate the service and enforce the simultaneous connection limit of your plan
Data we never hold
We do not store your full card number, expiry date or security code. Card payments are handled entirely by our payment providers; we receive only a transaction reference and a confirmation of payment.
3. Why we use your data, and our lawful basis
- To provide the service — creating your account, activating your subscription and sending your credentials. Lawful basis: performance of a contract.
- To provide support — answering your questions and resolving technical problems. Lawful basis: performance of a contract.
- To operate and secure our servers — enforcing plan limits, preventing credential sharing, detecting fraud and abuse. Lawful basis: legitimate interests in running a viable and secure service.
- To notify you that your subscription is about to expire. Lawful basis: legitimate interests, since this is directly related to a service you have bought. You may opt out at any time.
- To meet legal and accounting obligations — keeping records of transactions. Lawful basis: legal obligation.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing purposes.
4. Who we share your data with
We share the minimum necessary with a small number of service providers who act on our behalf:
- Payment providers — to take payment and confirm it
- Hosting and server providers — to run this website and the streaming infrastructure
- Messaging providers — to deliver your credentials by email and WhatsApp
Each of these acts under contract and may only use your data to provide the service we have engaged them for. We may also disclose data where we are legally required to do so.
5. Transfers outside the United Kingdom
Some of our providers operate servers outside the UK. Where personal data is transferred abroad, we rely on UK adequacy regulations or on the International Data Transfer Agreement (or the UK Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses), so that your data continues to receive an equivalent level of protection.
6. How long we keep your data
- Account and contact details — for the duration of your subscription and for 24 months afterwards, so that we can help you if you return
- Connection logs — 90 days, then deleted
- Support correspondence — 24 months
- Transaction records — 6 years, as required by UK accounting and tax rules
After these periods, data is deleted or irreversibly anonymised.
7. Security
We apply appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), restricted access on a need-to-know basis, and regular review of our systems.
No system can be guaranteed completely secure. If a personal data breach occurs that is likely to result in a risk to your rights and freedoms, we will notify the ICO within 72 hours and inform you where the law requires it.
8. Cookies
